Empowering Youth Employment: Strategic Support for the Mosala Resource Center

The project aims to support the Mosala Resource Center in designing an integrated and effective service delivery strategy to strengthen the professional integration of young people, particularly young women, in Kinshasa, by optimizing the match between available skills and the needs of the local job market.

Evaluation of the integration of decent 
work in the development of value chains

The Evaluation examined how decent work is included -explicitly or implicitly- in the interventions of Belgian development cooperation actors (BIO, Enabel, Trade for Development Centre (TDC), Beyond Chocolate, Better Jobs Accelerator Fund and ANGS) that address value chains at both the design and implementation levels, assessing the corresponding results.

  • Fields visits in 6 countries (Benin, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Senegal and Vietnam)

Decent Work Risk Assessment in India


  • Help BCI understand the worker profiles in relevant cotton-producing states
  • Identify risk factors and drivers of forced labour and child labour, including an assessment of higher risk states.
  • Develop recommendations for how BCI and its Implementing Partners can address these risk factors, including mapping of existing initiatives and new activities which should be initiated.

Decent Work Risk Assessment in Better Cotton-producing Countries in Africa​


  • Help BCI better understand the labour dynamics in 12 African countries and the risks and drivers of forced and child labour in cotton production. 
  • Conduct high-level risk assessment across all twelve countries, identify 3 high-risk countries that are sufficiently representative of decent work risks to develop an in-depth analysis on local cotton production, the root causes, risks and drivers of force labour and child labour.
  • Develop recommendations for how BCI and its partners can address these risk factors, including a mapping of existing initiatives and new activities which should be initiated.
