Intermittent support on capacity building for the Programme SANITA – Clean Cities in Conakry - Guinea

Providing intermittent support (3 field missions combined with distant follow-up and mentoring to the team) on institutional and organizational capacity strengthening of the actors of the waste management (and related economic value chains) in Conakry and on professional skills development for their human resources. The work conducted comprised: (1) Institutional and organizational assessments, (2) Development of capacity-building strategies and related plans for the different actors involved (Ministry of Sanitation; Agency for Sanitation and Wholesomeness (ANASP); Municipalities; SMEs and their federations; …), (3) The institutional arrangements related to waste management centers, (4) Partnership agreements, (5) Updating the logical framework and designing the M&E system for the SANITA Programme and solid waste management professionalization Strategy; (6) Legal and regulatory arrangements and strategic advice concerning effective transfer to municipalities (decentralization/devolution) of responsibilities and resources concerning waste management and sanitation.
