Final evaluation of 5 IUC and 3 NETWORK programmes of VLIR-UOS

This assignment is about the final evaluations of 8 long term partnership programmes supporting the cooperation between higher education institutions in the Global South and in Flanders, funded by VLIR-UOS. The evaluation covers 5 Institutional University Cooperation (IUC) programmes (Mountains of the Moon University in Uganda; Hué University in Vietnam; Mzumbe University in Tanzania; Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology in Tanzania; and Universidad de Oriente in Cuba); as well as 3 post-IUC NETWORK programmes (programmes coordinated by : Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral -ESPOL- in Ecuador; Can Tho University in Vietnam; and Universidad Central ‘Marta Abreu’ de Las Villas -UCLV- in Cuba).

IUC programmes facilitate 12-year institutional partnerships aimed at empowering universities in VLIR-UOS partner countries in the Global South in their role as a development actor in society. NETWORK programmes are national level institutional networks that build upon the experience of a former IUC partnership and aim at an uplevelling of the capacity building in view of reaching national level impact along a strategic theme of high relevance for the VLIR-UOS partner country. A NETWORK unites a number of collaborating local partner universities in a partner country in an interuniversity partnership with Flemish universities and universities of applied sciences and arts.
